On Monday 26 February we welcomed poet, Spoz (Giovanni Esposito), to The Chase. Over ninety Year 7 students watched him perform his own poems and then took part in a fun-packed poetry slam. Groups of six students battled it out against one another, creating and performing poems on the topic of refugees.
They took to the stage at the end of the day and the reigning champions were The Sassy Similes, consisting of Faith Davies, Lily Ferguson, Maddie Quinney, Amelia Massey, Libby Everett and Maeve Haughey. The winning team will travel to The Palace Theatre in Redditch on Wednesday 20 of March where they will be up against other schools from across the county. We wish them all the best in the bid to be the most talented poetry slam team in Worcestershire!
