Casual Curriculum (Cover) Supervisors and/or Relief Teachers

Salary: £13.49 to £14.18 or £13.95 to £17.07 an hour (Casual Curriculum Supervisor) / £153 a day (Relief Teacher)

Hours: As and when required,

Contract: Casual/Relief basis

Start date: As soon as possible

 

The Chase is looking for a suitably qualified individual to cover lessons using the work set by the regular teacher and have a flexible approach in being able to support Teaching Assistants, who is enthusiastic, innovative casual Curriculum Supervisors and/or Relief Teachers to join our team of casual workers. These roles would be ideal for a highly organised, flexible and resilient person who can adapt quickly, challenge and support learners of all ages in a range of skills, be able to adapt to and deliver the plans of a wide range of subjects.

The Successful candidate should be able to:

  • Cover lessons in the absence of the timetabled teacher
  • Supervising the delivery of cover work by effectively communicating the work to pupils
  • ensuring the at the required resources needed to effectively deliver the covered lessons are available
  • managing the behaviour of pupils whilst they are undertaking set work to ensure a positive learning environment
  • Responding to any questions from pupils about process and procedures
  • Deal with any immediate problems or emergencies in accordance with school policy and procedures
  • Collecting completed work after lesson and returning to the appropriate teacher.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Highly adaptable as there is no regular timetable
  • Be confident, organised, flexible and calm under pressure
  • Have experience of working with young people or teaching
  • Patient, flexible and creative
  • A commitment to the happiness well-being, self-esteem and and progress of everyone at the school
  • Be confident to implement behaviour management strategies.

Exam Invigilators

Exam Invigilators  

Contract: Casual, Hourly rate for Exam Invigilators is £13.27

This vacancy is open throughout the Academic year.

The Chase is looking for suitably qualified and dedicated Exam Invigilators to be part of a team to provide support for the Examination Office. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and fair administration of external and internal examinations to ensure the students have the best possible conditions in which to meet the requirements of the examination boards during each examination series. 

You will be required during the Exam seasons. 

Duties include:

  • To support the security of the examination rooms, exam papers, scripts and materials;
  • Dealing with queries raised by candidates and dealing with examination irregularities in accordance with strict procedures;
  • Checking attendance during examinations and communicate with Examination Office as needed;
  • Collecting and collating scripts at the end of the examination.
