This January, a group of our A-Level Computing students had the privilege of attending the Unlock Cyber Careers Event at the University of the West of England (UWE). The event offered a unique opportunity for students to delve into exciting career possibilities in IT, Cyber Security and the rapidly advancing field of Artificial Intelligence.
Throughout the day, students engaged in a series of inspiring lectures delivered by prominent industry experts from organisations such as BT, Microsoft, Hargreaves Lansdown and Immersive Labs. These sessions provided valuable insights into cutting-edge technologies and the evolving demands of the tech industry.
The event also tackled common misconceptions about degree apprenticeships, highlighting them as viable and rewarding alternatives to traditional university degrees for entering these dynamic fields.
Our students were exemplary representatives of the school, showcasing their enthusiasm, professionalism and a genuine passion for learning. Their active participation reflected their keen interest in exploring future opportunities in the ever-growing tech sector.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the professionals who shared their expertise and experiences. Their contributions have undoubtedly left a lasting impression, inspiring our students as they consider the next steps in their academic and professional journeys.
This enriching experience underscores the importance of connecting education with real-world opportunities, helping our students envision their futures with confidence and ambition.
